Who are we?

This page intends to promote Maritime Law. The laws that govern the maritime industry are of paramount importance to the world economy. Both rich and developing countries need reliable vessels, secure harbours, quick port services and, on top of that, clear and effective rules governing the whole of the sea transportation chain. This page tries to bring together as many legislation as possible from as many countries as possible to facilitate and spread the knowledge of maritime law as a crucial tool in nowadays globalised business world.

With that very purpose, the site also publishes the MIRMAL Maritime Law Bulletin, where experts from all over the world are able to publish their work in specific maritime law and economics subjects thus sharing their expertise and contributing to spread the knowledge of maritime law. The MIRMAL Maritime Law Bulletin also contains a weekly industry news digest posted to keep the maritime industry players aware of both the last legal and business affairs occured in the market.

With such a promotion of maritime law we intend to offer a legal platform to the whole of the maritime industry. The site is directed to maritime lawyers, carriers, shippers, consigneees, shipowners as well as to governmental organisations such as trasportation ministries, port authorities or any other maritime industry professional.

All the information of the site comes from the work undertaken by maritime lawyers from all over the world coordinated by Miquel Roca.
