Sophia Quentin is French, permanently residing in London.

 

Being a law student at Nantes University, she decided to spend a year abroad to study Law in Cardiff University. She specialised in European and International Public Law, writing a dissertation on NATO (NATO: from a Defensive Regional Alliance to a Global Peace-keeping Institution). In 2000, she graduated in Law with distinction from the University of Nantes, France.

 

Following graduation, Sophia undertook an LL.M. (masters degree) in Legal Aspects of Marine Affairs at the University of Wales. She wrote her thesis on "The Human Intervention in Marine Risks: A Comparative Analysis of English and French Marine Insurance Law" (available at Cardiff University Law Library). She received her masters degree in July 2002.

 

After finishing university, Sophia worked for 2 years in credit insurance with one of the market leaders, Gerling NCM (now Atradius). In November 2003, Sophia joined Foreign Business Services Limited a specialist risk management and marine insurance intermediary.
